New readers start here: I was instructed by the LJ abuse team to cease using the icon I've used for this post as my default, so I replied to them asking whether the picture I've reproduced on the left here was in order.

I've now had a reply from LJ support, as follows:

Dear LiveJournal User:
Please be aware that the LiveJournal Abuse Team does not seek out violations, but we are required to act on complaints as they are raised. We do appreciate your willingness to comply with and understanding of our policies. The icon to which you have linked is acceptable for default use.

I'd laugh, except it's all so sad. What were they thinking? Were they thinking? Have they banned thinking?

Why stop at nipples, why not ban boobs alltogether, they are after all, unsightly and stir up inapropriate thoughts in the weaker sex?

Heh. Good job. :-)

I sincerely hope they change this rule. I'm frustrated beyond belief by it and can't believe that they don't realize that they're going to end up discriminating based on skin color.
